Even for supported versions, if you lose the product key it is effectively impossible to get MS to replace it without other massive proof of purchase, AND a lot of luck in talking to the right support rep. Do you still have the old computer?
There are a number of free utilities that can be used to extract product keys for and earlier. Is there anyway I can get a replacement product key.
